Self massage is a staple therapy in Ayurvedic medicine and part of the daily routine we call Dinacharya! The type of massage called Abhyanga is usually practiced with medicated oils prepared specifically to bring balance to your Body, Mind...and Soul...When people are getting started with this practice at home, they usually use an unmedicated oil like pure Sesame, Coconut or Sunflower....so, oil away! Then, they might discever the extra benefits of an herbally infused oil and use a formulation like Stagnation be Gone.
In reality, Abhyanga is more of an OLEATION therapy (hint hint use lots and lots of warm oil until you are drenched like a French fry)...but people refer to Abhyanga as massage. Call it whatever you like as long as you DO IT!
The application of oils to the body and head is called “snehana” in Ayurveda. In Sanskrit, “sneha” means both oil and TO LOVE. Therefore, applying warm oils to our body and head every morning is a gesture of self-nurturance, an affirmation of self love!
“The body of one who uses oil massage regularly does not become affected much even if subjected to accidental injuries, or strenuous work. By using oil massage daily, a person is endowed with pleasant touch, trimmed body parts and becomes strong, charming and least affected by old age”
The Copper set requires candles to gently warm the oil. Usually, 2-3 tealight candles are all that is needed to warm the oil gently and keep it warm.
Candles not included.
